Introduction
The Forensic department housed closed to the Panagal Hall is a very old building built in the year 1929 and was a part of the Indian School of the Medicine.
Infrastructure
This department houses two demo halls, library, museum and practical hall, records room and research lab.

Academic Activities

1 To do Post Mortem on Medico-Legal cases.
2 Issuing Post Mortem Certificates.
3 Collecting the organs and maintaining the Museum.
4 Maintaining the Medico-Legal Records.
5 Teaching to the MBBS Students, Theory, Practical and Post Mortem Classes.
6 Attending the various Court’s as an Expert witness.
7 Attending the Sexual Offence cases and Age Estimation cases.
8 Bone Examination cases.
9 Hyoid Bone Examination cases.
10 Doing Spot post mortem and Exhumation.
11 Visiting the scene of crime in Medico-Legal Cases.
